The note has the image of the Ashoka pillar to the right and is black and blue-violet on brown and multi-colored underprint with the center being tan. The back, which is very colorful shows the image of a dam people working the fields and ears pf wheat and a farmer riding a tractor. The banknote has a watermark depicting Ashoka pillar and a solid security thread right of center. It has one signature on the front, that of Puri the Governor of the Reserve Bank Of India in the period 1975-1977. The front also displays the serial number and series in red twice. This particular note has the serial number 171448 and it is from series 6BD. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: The note has no date but according to the banknote Book it was introduced January 9, 1976.
Printer: India Security Press.
Size: The note measures ~6 3/16" by ~2 7/8".
Pick Number: P85b and is listed in the Banknote Book as B267b.
Condition: I would grade the note as apparent crisp uncirculated. The note has no folds, no creases, no tears, no splits, no graffiti, no stains, and no soiling. The note has no graffiti, and its edges are intact with no roughness. Its corners are intact, with no bumps and are fully squared. It retains its stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. The only issue we see is two pinholes near the left edge of the front and this is the reason we grade the note Apparent Crisp Uncirculated instead of just Crisp Uncirculated. A nice and very desirable note, which would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see scans for additional condition information.
