Description: Beautiful uncirculated silver coin from Egypt. This is the 1981 (1401 AH) One Egyptian Pound silver coin commemorating the 25-year anniversary of the nationalization of the Suez Canal by the Egyptian Government. The coin depicts the image of an ancient Egyptian boat with men standing in it and showing waves below the boat as well as a relief behind the boat depicting the Suez Canal flanked by two linear designs. The Obverse also has the words "Silver Anniversary of the Nationalization of The Suez Canal" above the design along the edge. The reverse has the words "Arab Republic of Egypt"" on top and the denomination in the center between the date in AD and AH with a beautiful arabesque design in the bottom. It is KM 528 with a nominal weight of 15 grams of 0.72 silver and a diameter of ~36 mm. The coin has a reeded edge and is graded by ANACS as Mint State MS 64. It comes in a plastic holder so labeled.
