1993 Redware Large Plate Glazed with Central Sunflower Decoration By Ned Foltz

  • $ 77.77

Description: A beautiful redware large (~10 1/4" diameter) plate with a scalloped edge. This glazed dish has brown colored background with dark blue or black mottling and some yellow highlights. There is a design depicting what we believe is a sunflower in the center of the plate with brown leaves behind it. The flower is yellow with a grown center having dark brown mottling. Very nice and unusual design. The plate has a thick construction and is rather heavy. It has a slightly flattened base with flared, rounded and rather flat sides that end at a scalloped edge. The base as well as the exterior wall are not glazed and show the typical color of unglazed redware. The plate is signed and dated by the artist.
