1993 Redware Large Plate Glazed with Central Sunflower Decoration By Ned Foltz

  • $ 77.77

Description: A beautiful redware large (~10 1/4" diameter) plate with a scalloped edge. This glazed dish has brown colored background with dark blue or black mottling and some yellow highlights. There is a design depicting what we believe is a sunflower in the center of the plate with brown leaves behind it. The flower is yellow with a grown center having dark brown mottling. Very nice and unusual design. The plate has a thick construction and is rather heavy. It has a slightly flattened base with flared, rounded and rather flat sides that end at a scalloped edge. The base as well as the exterior wall are not glazed and show the typical color of unglazed redware. The plate is signed and dated by the artist. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
