1946 Switzerland Banknote Five Francs Currency William Tell Pick# 11L XF++

Description: A nice extremely fine or better banknote from Switzerland. This is the 5 Francs currency note issued by The Swiss National Bank in Bern and Zurich on August 31, 1946. The note has red, blue and black design on an olive-green background in the front with the image of the William Tell monument at Altdorf to the left of the front in a circle. The note shows the denomination, three signatures, and the serial number on the front. The back is olive green in color and only shows the denomination. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. It has three signatures and the serial number in black on the front. This particular note has the serial number 037501 and it is series 31B. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.

Date: The note is date 31 August 1946.

Size: Measures ~4 7/8" by ~2 3/4".

Pick Number: P11l and is listed in the Banknote Book as B305l.

I would grade this banknote as a nice extremely fine or better with all the being very well preserved. The note has one central vertical fold and other than that it is clean with no stains. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness, sheen and crispiness. Its edges are intact showing no roughness and its corners are squared and intact with no bumps or creases. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no additional folds or creases and no tears or splits. A great noted to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
