Antique Beater Mixer Gray Blue Stoneware Body Blue Handle Mechanisim
Description: Antique mixer or beater with a blue and gray stoneware jar and a metal mixing mechanisim with blue painted wooden handles. The jar is gray glazed stoneware with a band of cobalt blue glaze near the top for decoration. The mixer or beater mechanism has two circular metal ends with a long handle ending with a blue wooden handle and having a rotating piece aslso with a blue handle.
Date: Early to mid 20th Century.

Size: The Jar is 4 5/8" diameter and 5 1/8" hig. The mechanism is 11 1/2" long with a round piece in the middle that fits on top of the jar being 5 1/8" diameter.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice old mixer or beater, which would make a great addition to any collection.
Condition: The item is in very good condition given its age and utiliterian function. The jar has no breaks, hairlines, cracks, chips, or repairs. It does have a few glaze flakes one at the rim and one in the bottom. It does have the expected imperfections associated with these old primitive piecxes, such as uneveness, pops, incomplete glazing and general surface roughness. The mixer itself works well and smoothly, but has considerable oxidation. In addition, it would appear that the wooden handles have been repainted at a later date.
