Description: An Antique painted lithograph print of a woman seated with her child by her side. The painted lithograph is under glass with brass fitted corners and a wood backing. The piece is also equipped with a wire stand on the back so it can be displayed on a flat surface. The piece is marked in the lower left corner "COPYRIGHT, 1899; THE ULLMAN MFG. CO.; NEW YORK". The piece is very well done with nice fresh colors after being around for over 100 years. It would display nicely in your collection. Truly the photos do not do it justice and the piece is much better looking than the photos suggest. A very nice and colorful decorative piece, which would look great in your collection. Date: Uncertain but most likely sometime in late 1800s or early 1900s.
Origin: Recently acquired at an estate sale in Southeast Pennsylvania.
Size: The art work measure ~7 3/4" by ~5 3/4" with the brass corners adding ~3/4" in each dimension. The piece weighs about 8 ounces.
Artist: Unknown.
Marks: Unmarked/unsigned, but has marking in an ovall shape spelling "COPYRIGHT, 1899; THE ULLMAN MFG. CO.; NEW YORK" in the lower left corner.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice decorative art piece very well done, beautiful, and in great condition. It would make a worthy addition to your collection.
Condition: The piece is in very good condition given its age. It has no breaks and no repairs. The glass cover has no chips or cracks. The brass corners are intact and solidly in place. The wire stand, although a bit flimsy, is solidly in place and does the job the way it should. The art work displays no losses or problems. The only thing we see is a few spots where there is a separation between the glass and the lithograph print. These are mostly along the top edge with one or two withing the body of the piece. These do not affect the beauty or quality of the piece. A great decorative piece to add to your collection.
