Description: This is a beautiful handpainted fine porcelain platter or serving plate. This platter, which was made in Limoges France, is decorated with a beautiful and very colorful handpainted floral design and has a golden edge. The platter also has two handles to the side. The back is marked as to the maker and has the words June 8-1929 P.S.-A.R.M. in golden cursive calligraphy. The platter has two circular feet with a small round one within a larger one. The small center foot has the maker mark. We believe the piece was a gift, possibly for the marriage of P. S. and A. R.M. on June 8, 1929. Origin: Limoges, France.
Size: Measures ~12" by ~10 5/8" and is ~1 1/2" high at the handles. The platter weighs about one and half pounds.
Maker: J. Pouyat.
Marks: Has the J. Pouyat mark consisting of a green marking under glaze on the back of the plate consisting of a circle with the letters J. P. over the letter L with the word FRANCE along the bottom forming the edge of the circle. There are also the words June 8-1929 P.S.-A.R.M written in golden cursive calligraphy on the back.

Condition: Platter is in excellent condition with no cracks, hairlines, discoloration, or repairs. It has no crazing to the glaze and no utensil marks or scratches. The hand painted flowers are intact with vivid colors and no losses at all. The gold trim is also intact with no losses that we could find. The two circular feet on the back are a bit soiled, but this is nothing of concern. A great piece to add to your collection of Limoges fine hand decorated porcelain. This particular plate, which we believe was a wedding gift, was cherished by its owner and was well taken care of and as such it is in excellent condition.
