Antique Pewter Ice Cream Mold American Flag from New York State
Description: A nice pewter ice cream mold in the shape of the American Flag. The hinged mold is very smooth on the inside and shows the stars and stripes of Old Glory. It also has two small thumb pieces at the edge to help open it. It is marked with the number 1075 raised on the front and back. Date: Early to mid 20th century
Origin: New York State, USA
Size: The flag is 3 1/2" by ~2 1/2", 1 1/4" high, and is 4 1/4" at its widest including the hinge.
Maker: Most likely E & Co. NY
Marks: The raised numbers 1075 on the front and back the letters NY raised on back and some additional obliterated lettering on the back, which is probably E & Co.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very nice and unusual piece. This is really a substantial piece weighing almost 15 ounces.
Condition: It is in excellent condition, with no breaks, cracks, repairs or losses. The hinge is intact and tight. Please see photo for additional condition information. It does have some general wear commensurate with its age and utilitarian function.
