Antique Pewter Small Fluid or Oil Lamp Having Ring Shaped Finger Loop

  • $ 139.99

Description: Antique pewter fluid or oil lamp. The lamp has a around base with a foot along the edge. The lamp also has a ring- or round-shaped finger loop. The base of the lamp rises at an angle and meets a straight rising side ending in a shoulder. The shoulder supports a short neck with a screw on top having a tubular column. The screw on top serves as a lid to the reservoir where the oil would be. The screw on lid has a central hollow column or tube where a wick would be inserted to be eventually lit. The lamp has a wick inside the oil reservoir that is not threaded into the column and we actually are not certain if it would fit into it, but that is how we found it and we are selling it as found. The tube appears to be made of tin. We believe this lamp is from the mid to late1800s. However, the lamp is relatively clean and appears not to have seen much use. It has a nice gray age patina which has nice eye appeal. A nice piece which would display well in your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
