Antique Two-Drawer Miniature Wooden Dresser Dovetail Constructed Drawers
Description: An antique miniature wooden dresser. The dresser has two drawers with screwed in plastic knobs. Each drawer has two knobs. The drawers are of dovetail and nail construction. The drawers appear to be made of at least two types of wood. The dresser has bracket feet cut into the bottom of the sides. The dresser itself is constructed with nails and the nails are of the square or rectangular head type as opposed to the more modern round head nails. The piece has a light brown finish which shows the grain of the wood especially on the sides. The back is made of what appears to be a different type of wood than the wood used for the rest of the piece. The piece is nicely made and was probably either a salesman sample or a child's toy. It is solid and intact and shows some wear but still looks great. We do not know what types of wood were used to make the piece. Date: Uncertain but most likely in the late 1800's or very early 1900's.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southern New Jersey.
Size: The dresser measures ~6 3/8" by ~3 3/4" on top and is ~5 1/2" high. The piece weighs about one pound and 2.5 ounces.

Condition: The piece is in great condition given its age. It has no breaks, cracks, or repairs. It appears to be all original with no replacement parts. It has some wear to the finish which can be seen in the photos. The surface has a few minor scratches and small nicks here and there. In addition, you can see where the nails are. Finally, the piece is a bit soiled and could use a good cleaning but we leave that to the new owner. All of these issues are from honest wear over the years. The back has a more recent scratch, which truly does not affect the beauty or quality of the piece. Please see photos for additional condition information.
