Antique Wood and Cast Iron Peck Stow & Wilcox Co. Manual Coffee Spice Mill or Grinder Drawer with Wooden Knob
Description: A very nice looking antique coffee or spice mill or grinder. The mill has a wooden constructed bottom and a cast iron hopper with a crank and grinding mechanism. The hopper on top has a cast iron cover which swiveled to close it after it has been filled with beans. The cover has a beautiful floral and foliate cast design and has a short thumb piece to open and close it. The crank has a wooden knob at the end for comfort while grinding. The wooden base is of dove tail construction with the bottom being screwed to it. It has a drawer which is equipped with a wooden knob. The inside on the drawer has remnants of a paper label indicating that it was made by the P S&W Co. and that this is the "ptex mill for coffee or spice." The piece works well and appears to be all original. Please carefully view the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Maker: Peck Stow & Wilcox Co.
Marks: Paper label inside the drawer which indicates that the mill is made by P S&W Co. and that the piece is a "prtex MILL FO COFFEE OR SPICE."
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Just a very nice and great looking antique coffee mill, which would make a great addition to your collection.
Condition: In very good condition with no breaks, damage, or repairs that we could identify. The mill appears to be all original and has wear commensurate with its age and utilitarian function. The crank and the grinding mechanism appear to be in good working order. The piece is soiled, shows wear throughout with scratches, nicks, minor wood losses at the corners of the drawer, and quite a bit of loss of the label inside the drawer. The corners of the base and top are a bit banged-up and are obvious in the photos. Of course the piece is soiled and shows a dark age patina in several spots such as the wooden knob at the end of the crank. Be that as it may, the piece looks great and would display very well in your collection. Please view photos for additional condition information.
