Antique Wood & Cast Iron Manual Coffee Spice Mill Grinder Repaired & Refinished
Description: A very nice-looking antique coffee or spice mill or grinder. The mill has a wooden constructed bottom and a cast iron hopper with a cast iron crank and grinding mechanism. The crank has a wooden knob at the end for comfort while grinding. The wooden base is of dove tail construction with the bottom and top being nailed to it. It has a drawer of nail construction and is equipped with a wooden knob held to the front with a screw. The mill has obviously been repaired as evidenced by some new nails and wood filling in a small spot on the base and has been stripped and refinished. The piece works well and appears to be all original with the exception of the repairs and the refinishing. Be that as it may, the piece looks great and would display nicely as a decorative accent in your kitchen or in your collection. Date: Uncertain, but it could be from late19th century to early 20th century.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The base measures ~6 1/8" by ~6", is ~5 3/4" high to the top of the hopper and ~8 1/4" high to the top of the wooden knob at the end of the crank. The piece weighs about 2 pounds and 13 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Just a very nice and great looking antique coffee mill, which would make a great addition to your collection or can be used as a decorative accent in your kitchen.
Condition: In very good condition and has a great look. The mill has obviously been repaired as evidenced by some new nails and wood filling in a small spot on the base (see 7th photo in the base board between the two dark spots to the left and the 9th photo by the screw in the top left corner) and has been stripped and refinished. The piece works well and appears to be all original with the exception of the repairs and the refinishing. Be that as it may, the piece is great looking and would display nicely anywhere. It is clean, shows some wear with a few minor scratches and nicks. This is a great piece and would display very well in your collection or can be used as a decorative accent in your kitchen.
