Antique Wrought Iron and Brass Copper Rivets Rat Tail Taster Southeastern Pennsylvania

Description:  A beautiful antique handmade taster. The taster has a wrought iron handle with a rat tail pattern at the end. Both the bottom and top portions of the handle are flat while the middle portion is round. The piece has a thin hooked hanger sometime referred to as "Rat Tail" hanger. It also has a beautiful brass bowl, which is attached to the handle with two copper rivets. The bowl is also hammered and is plain with no decoration. This is a great looking antique which would make a great addition to any collection. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Early to mid 1800's.

Origin: Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The taster measures 15 1/4" long, while the bowl is 2 1/2" in diameter.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nicely done brass, copper and wrought iron taster that is very good looking and would be a great addition to any collection.

Condition:  Taster is in very good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs. There is a bend in the top portion of the handle and there is some dings to the brass bowl. In addition, the iron handle shows some pitting and minor spots of rust. Be that as it may, the piece is solid and beautiful and really looks good after being around for almost 200 years. In Closing: This is a beautiful taster having a nice look. Definitely deserves a prominent spot in your collection.
