Antique Wrought Iron and Brass Large Butcher Skimmer Marked FBS Canton Ohio Dated Jan 26, 1886
Description: A beautiful antique handmade large butcher skimmer. The skimmer is made of a wrought iron flat handle with an attached perforated brass shallow bowl. The handle is at its widest away from the perforated end. The handles ends in a curved or hooked portion to hang from. The bottom portion of the handle is thinner than the top and is attached to a perforated shallow brass bowl with three brass rivets. The piece is stamped FBS Canton Ohio Pat. Jan. 26 86. This is a great looking high quality antique kitchen or butcher tool which seldom come by and would make a great addition to any collection. Size: The skimmer measures ~18 3/4" long, with the bowl being ~5 5/8" in diameter. The piece weighs over 11.5 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice well made wrought iron butcher or kitchen utensil that is very good looking and would be a great addition to any collection.
Condition: The skimmer is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. It has some scratches and minor signs of oxidation commensurate with its age and utilitarian function. The bowl is a bit distorted but intact and in great condition after being around for over 100 years. It has a beautiful age patina throughout. Please see photos for additional condition information.
