Antique Wrought Iron and Copper Primitive Ladle With Heart-Shaped Hanging Loop

Description: A nice antique primitive wrought iron and copper handmade kitchen ladle. The piece has a handle made of wrought iron having a flat profile. The handle is attached to a copper circular and of relatively nice size bowl. The hand hammered copper bowl is riveted to the iron handle using two copper rivets. The copper bowl has folded edge on the exterior. The handle has a heart shaped loop at the opposite end of the bowl to hang from. Very unusual and interesting kitchen utensils to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Unknown, but most likely mid to late 1800s (19th century).

Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania

Size: The ladle measures ~7 1/2" long, while the bowl is ~3 1/4" in diameter at the top, and is ~1 1/8" deep. The piece weighs ~4.7 ounces.

Marks: Unmarked.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nicely done iron and copper ladle with a very interesting hanging loop, which would be a great addition to any collection.

Condition: The ladle is in excellent good condition with no breaks, losses, or repairs. The piece has some scratches, minor dings, some rust signs on the iron handle and oxidation signs on the inside of the bowl. It is clean in general but the copper bowl could use a good cleaning job to bring its full beauty out. The piece is solid and beautiful and really looks great.
