Antique Wrought Iron Large Butcher Fork Marked FBS Canton Ohio Dated Jan 26, 1886

Description: A beautiful antique handmade large two pronged meat fork. The pieces is made of wrought iron with a flat handle which gets wider as it gets away from the forked end. The handles end in a curved or hook portion on top to hang from. The bottom portion of the handle is thinner than the top and goes into the two prongs of the fork. The piece is tamped FBS Canton Ohio Pat. Jan. 26 86. This is a great looking high quality antique kitchen tool which seldom come by and would make a great addition to any collection. Date: Uncertain, but most likely Late 1800's.

Origin: Ohio, USA.

Size: The fork measures ~15 1/4" long, is ~1 3/4" at its widest and its head is ~3" long. The piece weighs about 8 ounces.

Maker: Unknown.

Marks: The piece is stamped on the back of the handle with the following "FBS Canton Ohio Pat. Jan. 26 86".

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice well made wrought iron butcher utensil that is very good looking and would be a great addition to any collection.

Condition: Fork is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. It has some scratches and minor signs of oxidation commensurate with its age and utilitarian function. It has a beautiful black look a nice age patina. Please see photos for additional condition information.
