Beautiful 1828 Matron Head Large Cent NGC F 15 BN Stack's W 57 St. Collection
Description: A nice NGC F 15 BN copper 1828 Liberty Head with a Matron Head design large cent or penny. This coin is from the Stack's W 57th St. Collection. The coin itself is better than the photos suggest and still has some of its details evident. The details of the coins are very distinct with wear commensurate with its grade. The obverse shows general wear to the cheek of lady liberty as well as the hair lines. However, you can still see the word LIBERTY in her crown. The rest of the coin shows wear but the details are still easily identifiable. The word one cent in the center of the reverse and the words United States of America are still distinct and readable while the wreath has considerable wear and lost the details of the leaves. The coin has wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin is problem free and in original condition displaying a handsome brown colored patina. These coins were designed by Robert Scott. Early US coins such as this are gradually getting difficult to find. Please carefully review scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.
