Beautiful 1940s Roseville Pottery Blue Squat Jardiniere Columbine Pattern 655-4"
Description: A most beautiful blue colored art pottery squat jardiniere having a short neck and two handles by the Roseville Pottery Company.This 4" tall jardiniere is in the Columbine pattern. The pattern shows a large white bloom on tall slender stems with trailing leaves and three-leaf clusters. The piece has a short foot on the bottom and a shaped short neck on the top. Again, the piece has two small angled handles. This Roseville pattern was introduced in 1941. Please carefully view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Sometime post 1941.
Origin: The piece was purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It was of course made in Roseville, Ohio.
Size: The piece measures ~4" high, ~7" in diameter at its widest, and is ~3 1/4" in diameter at the base. The piece weighs slightly over one and a half pounds.
Maker: Roseville Pottery Company.
Marks: In relief on the bottom of the base the words "Roseville, U. S. A. 655-4" which can be seen in the photos.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a truly nice piece with rich, fresh, and vivid colors, which would display very well in your collection.
Condition: The piece is in very good condition with no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The piece has general crazing to the glaze. The piece is lightly soiled and would probably benefit from a good cleaning, but we leave that to the new owner. The piece is great looking and would display nicely.
