Beautiful and Colorful Wood Duck Drake Carved and Painted Wood Figurine or Decoy
Description: A beautiful painted and very colorful decorative decoy of a Wood Duck drake or male. The carved wood decoy is painted in reddish brown, green, blue, black, yellow, green, and white has a white colored flat base. The decoy is unsigned and undated. The decoy has very little details except for the general shape, the head, the typical hood a wood duck has over its head, and the beak or bill. The wings and tail are defined with paint and not carving. The decoy has what we believe are plastic eyes which are dark brown with a black center. The decoy has a beautiful detailed and nicely painted body. This is really a nice decorative piece that is well done and would make a great decorative piece or a nice addition to your collection. Date: Unknown but most likely sometime late 1900s (late 20th century).
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The decoy measures ~10 1/4" long, ~3 3/4" at its widest, and ~5 1/8" at its highest point. The piece weighs about 12 ounces.
Maker: Unknown.
Marks: Unmarked.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with minimum wear or losses to the finish. The piece has no breaks or repairs. It has a few scratches to the surface. It is a nice, solid, beautiful, with lots of character, and would display very nicely in your collection or make for a nice decorative accent. Please see photos for additional condition information.
