Beautiful Antique Carved Wood Stylized Flower Design Turned Butter Print
Description: A beautiful nice size antique lathe turned and carved wood butter print. This butter print is made of a single piece of wood and has a nice circular print. It has a carving depicting a stylized flower with nine long petals and two large leaves at its base. These leaves are decorated with a crosshatched design forming small diamond shaped dots throughout. The flower is surrounded with a carved border all along the edge of the print which consists of short ovals touching each other. The butter print has a relatively long handle in the center with a expanded end having a flat top. The entire piece is made of a single piece of wood. Origin: Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Measures ~3 5/8" in diameter at the design part and is ~2 3/4" high. The piece itself weighs about 2.3 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice antique butter print with a nice and unusual design. it would make a great addition to your butter print collection. Condition: The piece is in very good condition given its age and utilitarian function. It has no cracks, no hairline, and no repairs. It does have chips or losses all along the edge which can be seen in the photos. Some of these are larger than others and some are just surface losses. It also has some general scratches and minor dings throughout. However, the design is intact and beautiful. Please see photos for additional condition information.
