Beautiful Glazed Porcelain Dog Figurine Large Short Hair Dachshund Dog Standing on All Four with Head Slightly Turned Beswick England

Description:   A beautiful glazed and realistically colored fine china figurine of a short hair Dachshund made by Beswick of England. The figurine shows a Dachshund standing on all four legs with its head slightly turned to the left in a typical Dachshund stance. This hollow china figurine is colored dark brown on the back, ears and most of the head, while the under belly, the under face and the paws are colored light brown in typical dachshund colors. Just a great dog figurine with very realistic look and colors. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. 

Date:  Mid to late 1900's. 

Origin:  England  Size:  ~5 1/2" high and ~8 7/8" long and ~3" at the widest part of the base. The piece weighs almost 15 ounces, rather substantial. 

Maker:  Beswick 

Marks:  Marked in blue under glaze on the bottom with the words "Beswick England" in a circle around the small hole which allows water vapor to escape during the firing of the piece.
