Beautiful Webster Sterling Silver Engraved Baby Cup Raggedy Ann Figure
Description: A beautiful and rather small sterling silver baby cup. The cup has a flat found base rising in a step fashion to meet straight rising sides ending in a rolled rim. It has an ear-shaped applied handle. The cup itself is decorated with a light engraving depicting the figure of Raggedy Ann, the famous child doll, on one side while the rest of the cup is undecorated. Please carefully view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century.
Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: Measures ~1 5/8" in diameter at the base, ~2 1/16" diameter at the top, 1 7/8" high, ~2 1/4" high to the top of the handle, and ~3" wide including the handle. The piece weighs about 31.5 grams or a bit over 1 troy ounce.
Mark: Has the word "WEBSTER STERLING" and an arrow through the letters CW stamped on the bottom of the base.
Condition: The piece is in very good condition. The cup has no break, or repairs. It does have a few scratches and several small dings at the edge of the bottom of the side where it meets the stepped base (these can be clearly seen in the photos). The piece could also use a good cleaning, but we leave that to the new owner. Other than that this is a beautiful piece worthy of a spot in your collection.
