Bronze Coin 1932 AD 1351 AH Egyptian Half of One Millieme King Fouad I

  • $ 69.99

Description: A beautiful extremely fine or better 1351 AH or 1932 AD Egyptian half of one millieme (half of a tenth of a Piaster or Qirsh) bronze coin. The coin depicts the uniformed bust of king Fuad or Fouad the first facing left and wearing a fez with the words "Fuad the First King of Egypt" along the edge on the obverse. The reverse has the denomination, the AH and the AD dates and saying "al-mamlakah al masryah" or the Egyptian Kingdom. The coin is toned and shows some wear to the high points of the obverse especially the king's cheeks. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1932.

Mint: Egypt, actually these coins were struck in Birmingham England as evidenced by the mint mark "H" on the reverse.

Size and Weight: This is 1/2 a Millieme or 1/20 of a Qirsh. It weighs ~3.3 gm and measures ~20 mm.

References: It is KM #343.

Condition: I would grade this coin as a beautiful extremely fine or better. The coin is nicely toned with minimum wear on the high points. The coin has all of its details being very well preserved. The coin has nice eye appeal. It is much better than the scan shows. It does have some minor scratches, minor bag marks, and wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. Please see photo for additional condition information.
