Currency 1940 ND Egypt 10 Piastres Banknote Signed Amin Osman Pick No. 167b XF++
Description: A a nice and fairly uncommon extremely fine or much better small banknote from Egypt. This is the 10 piastres note issued according to law number 50 of 1940. The note does not show the date of issue but was issued in the period June 1943 through August 1944 based on the signature of Amin Osman. The front of the note is blue on green underprint with a very busy decorative design and showing the image of the temple of Philae in the center. The back is green in color on orange underprint. The note is signed by Amin Osman as minister of finance in the period June 1943 through August 1944. The note has a watermark showing crowns and the letter "Feh" for Farouk, the king of Egypt, throughout. This particular note has the serial number 112384 and is series "W/2" which are written in both English and Arabic on the front. The note was printed by the Survey Agency of Egypt. Condition: I would grade this banknote as extremely fine or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has two light parallel central vertical folds and no horizontal folds. The note has no observable wrinkling. It is clean and has no stains. The note has no roughness along the edges with fully squared corners with no observable rounding. The note is crisp with quite a bit of its original sheen. The top right top corner has a light bump. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The colors are vivid, sharp, with no fading. A very nice note which would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
