Currency 1962 South African Reserve Bank 10 Rands Banknote Van Riebeeck P# 107b
Description: A beautiful uncirculated Banknote from South Africa. This is the South African Reserve Bank no date ten Rands known to have been introduced in 1962 (signed by Rissik with prefix having an even denominator). The banknote is green and brown on multicolored underprint in the front. It displays the portrait of Jan Van Riebeeck in a brown oval frame to the left of the front. There is a woman seated with an anchor in the left bottom corner and oxen drawn wagon with a man on horseback watching it and two grazing cattle along the bottom edge of the front. The back is green and displays the image of a three-masted sailing ship in the center. The note is written in Afrikaans and English. The front has one signature and the serial number as well as the denomination. This particular note has the serial number C over 32 988126, which is displayed twice on the front in black. The back only displays the name of the bank and the denomination. The note has a watermark displaying the portrait of Jan Van Riebeeck. Condition: I would grade this banknote as Uncirculated. The note has no folds and no wrinkling. The banknote is clean with no stains. The note retains all of its stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact with no roughness and no nicks. The corners are intact, squared with no observable rounding.
