Currency 1977 Bank of France 10 Francs Banknote P# 150c Colorful Hector Berlioz
Description: A beautiful and rather colorful crisp uncirculated banknote from France. This is the March 3, 1977 ten francs or Dix Francs currency note. It is made of light, thin, and crisp paper. This beautiful and very colorful banknote has a design showing the bust of Hector Berlioz, the famous 19th century French composer and orchestrator to the right of the front facing forward holding a maestro stick and conducting in the Chapelle des Ivalides on the front. The back has the image of Berlioz again to the left facing forward with the image of a musical instrument to the right and Rome's Villa Medici in the background. This is a very nice, rather scarce, very desirable note with a beautiful colorful design, and in excellent uncirculated condition. This particular note has the serial number 7398200842 which is displayed top center on the front. It is series Z.296 and has three signatures. It is dated 3 March 1977 (B.3-3-1977.B) on the front. The note has a watermark showing a man with long sideburns (possibly Berlioz). Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a good crisp uncirculated with all the details being very well preserved. The note has no folds, no tears, no splits, no pinholes, and no graffiti. The note has a minor bump in the center of the top edge, which is most likely due to miss handling and not circulation. However, it is very small and almost unobservable but mentioned here for completeness. The note retains all of its original stiffness and crispiness. The corners are fully squared with no bumps or folds and no rounding. The note is clean with no stains and its colors are still vivid and show no fading. This is a beautiful and very desirable note which would make a great addition to your collection of French banknotes. Please see photo for additional condition information.
