Description: A very interesting framed pen and water color on paper Pennsylvania Dutch style fraktur by Garnett B. French. The drawing is of two colorful birds perched on a plant and facing each other. They are drawn on a light brown paper giving the drawing an antiqued look. The piece is in a primitive wooden frame painted in green with raised black corners. The image is covered with glass and has a brown paper backing with a wire stretched along the entire piece to hang from. The birds are very colorful with tones of yellow, orange and brown with the plant being green with yellow and red coloration. A very interesting painting to add to your Americana folk art collection or use as a decorative accent in your home. Please see photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Mid to late 20th century.

Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA.

Size: The fraktur itself measures ~9 1/2" by ~7 1/4", while the frame measures ~12 1/4" by ~10" and the piece weighs about one pound and six ounces.

Artist: Garnett B. French.

Marks: Signed lower center G. B. French in cursive calligraphy right of center in the bottom.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice decorative Pennsylvania Dutch folk art. It would display very well in your collection or can be used as an accent for your country décor.

Condition: The piece is in very good condition with no major observable problems. The frame itself has a few minor nicks and scratches but nothing to worry about.
