January 1, 1915 Sonora Mexico Five Pesos Banknote Pick S1072 Crisp Uncirculated

Description: A nice crisp uncirculated Banknote from the State of Sonora in Mexico. This is the January 1, 1915 series D five pesos, which was issued in accordance the decree no. 13 of August 27, 1913. The banknote depicts the portraits of Francisco Madero (President of the United Mexican States) at left and J. M. Pino Suarez (Governor of the State of Sonora) at right both in black and white over a pale blue background with black writing on the front. The back is green with the image of Mexican arms showing an eagle with a snake in its beak with the words Republica Mexicana and the words Goberno del Estado Libre Y Soberano De Sonora surrounding the eagle in its center. There is a scalloped red treasury seal at the top left corner and the letters JR-X in red at the right corner of the back. This particular note has the serial number 09619 displayed twice in red on the front and is not displayed on the back. The note has four signatures displayed on the bottom of the front but has no water mark that we could find. The paper of the note is crisp and the colors are fresh and vivid. Condition: I would grade this banknote as crisp uncirculated. The banknote has all the details and they are very well preserved. The note has no graffiti, no splits, no soiling, no pinholes, and no stains. It retains all of its crispiness and is intact with no splits or tears. The note has no fold or creases. The note shows no roughness along the edges and its corners are fully squared with no observable rounding. A very nice piece to add to your collection.
