Modern Folk Art Hand Painted PA Dutch Theorem Patriotic American Eagle Bill Rank
Description: A very decorative and colorful framed oil on velveteen primitive painting depicting the American Eagle with spread wings and holding arrows and branch in his talons. There are 13 stars surrounding the eagle and a banner on top of it says "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This Pennsylvania style theorem comes in a nice wooden brown with black sponged highlights colored frame and is covered with glass for protection. The painting is very colorful with reds, blues, browns, greens and orange-yellows. The piece is framed, covered with glass and has a nailed wood, which is unusual but that is the way we got the piece. The piece is signed Bill Rank but is not dated. Mr. Rank, an artist from Southeastern Pennsylvania, lived in the period 1921-2000. The piece was probably done in the 1950s-1980s. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania, USA Size: The piece measures ~14 3/8" by ~12 1/2" and the framed piece weighs about 2 pound and 13 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a beautiful and very nice decorative primitive Pennsylvania Dutch style art piece with a great patriotic subject. It would display very well in your collection or can be used as an accent for your home decor.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with no problems that we could find. The frame has a few scratches but nothing to worry about. The wood covering on the back is nailed to the frame and signed R.V. It is clean, with minor soiling, no damage, and is equipped with wire needed to hang the piece. A great piece, ready to hang on your wall and would be a good addition to your collection of folk art.
