  • $ 877.77

Description: Beautiful gold coin showing no date from Venice Italy. This is a one Zecchino or Ducat from the times of Giovanni or John Corner II in the period of 1709-1722. The coin shows St. Mark standing right, presenting cruciform staff to Doge kneeling left with the legend "IOAN / CORNEL / S M VENET" on the obverse. The reverse shows full length Christ the Redeemer standing facing forward within beaded ellipse lined with 14 stars. The reverse has the legend "SIT·T·XPE·DAT·Q·TV REGIS·ISTE·DVCA" surrounding the image of Christ along the edge. The coin is undated but was issued during the period 1709-22. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. It is beautiful with nice eye appeal. It is KM 481, Mont. 2329 and Fr. 1372 weighing ~3.5 gm and measures ~21 mm. Please carefully review the photos provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: ND (1709-1722).

Size and Weight: This is a one Zecchino or Ducat that is ~21 mm in diameter and weighs ~3.5 grams of 0.9990 gold.

Condition: I would grade this coin as extremely fine. Its details are well preserved and has a nice eye appeal with quite a bit of luster. It does have wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin shows some double striking along the edges of the obverse and reverse, but nothing distracting. Be that as it may, the coin is as struck with nice details and much luster. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty of this coin and for additional condition information.
