Description: A nice very fine or better banknote from the Bank of Indonesia. This is the 1957 One Hundred Rupiah banknote. The banknote is blue-green on pink underprint on the front. The front has a vignette showing a squirrel within branches and trees in an oval frame at the left edge. The front also has the denomination in the center as well as in three of the four corners. The back is red and shows a house with a pond in front having lily pads. This is the presidential place in Bogor on Java. The back also has the serial number and shows the denomination in numerals in the two bottom corners. The front has two signatures and the note has the serial number 100YV97551, which is displayed in black twice on the back. The note has a watermark depicting the image of Prince Diponegoro, the famous Indonesian Javanese prince who opposed the Dutch colonial rule in the 1820s. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Printer: Thomas De La Rue in London England.

Size: The banknote measures ~6 3/16" by ~3 1/8".

Pick Number: Pick number 51a and is listed in the Banknote Book as B512a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine or better with all of its details still well preserved. The note has vertical folds and some light wrinkling. It is relatively clean with no stains. The note is intact with no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. Its corners are intact with minimum rounding but have some minor bumps. The edges are intact with some roughness and nicks at the ends of the folds. The note retains some of its stiffness and crispiness. A nice note to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
