Nice Roseville Pottery Mid 1920s Brown Art Nouveau Victorian Art Pottery Bowl

Description: A most beautiful and rare art pottery deep or console bowl by the Roseville Pottery Company. This a nice size (~9" at its widest and ~3" high) bowl in what is known as the Victorian Art Pottery pattern. This art nouveau pattern shows a wide belt of brown and tan stylized birds and leaves within rectangular panels along the circumference of the bowl. The bowl has a circular footed base and rounded sides ending in a short raised rim. It was made in the mid 1920s and beyond. Date: Sometime in the first half of the 20th century.

Origin: The piece is part of a large collection purchased from a collector in Southern New Jersey, which we will be listing over the coming weeks and months. It was of course made in Roseville, Ohio.

Size: The piece measures ~3" high, ~9" at its widest diameter, and is ~6 1/2" in diameter at the base. The piece weighs a bit over 2 pounds and 5 ounces.

Maker: Roseville Pottery Company.

Marks: The piece has "Rv" marking on the base in blue ink.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a truly nice piece which is very difficult to come by. The colors are rich, fresh and vivid and would display very well in your collection.

Condition: The piece is in good condition after being around for almost 100 years. It has no cracks, hairlines, or repairs. The piece has a small chip to the top of the rim, which we show in the last photo. The piece was repaired in the past but you can still see a few spots without coloring. It also has general light crazing to the glaze as well as a few light scratches to the surface, which are difficult to see with the naked eye. Be that as it may its colors are fresh and vivid with no losses. <font color=red><b> Because of the chip mentioned earlier we are selling the piece "AS IS" at a fraction of its true value. </font> Please see photos for additional condition information.
