1700-09 Gold Coin Venice Italy Zecchino or Ducat Alvise Mocenigo II KM 460 MS61

Description: Beautiful gold coin showing no date from Venice Italy. This is a one Zecchino or Ducat from the times of Alois or Alvise Mocenigo II in the period of 1700-1709. The coin shows St. Mark standing right, presenting cruciform staff to the Doge who is kneeling left with the legend "ALOY / MOCENI / S M VENET" on the obverse. The reverse shows full length Christ the Redeemer standing facing forward within beaded ellipse lined with 14 stars. The reverse has the legend "SIT·T·XPE·DAT·Q·TV REGIS·ISTE·DVCA" surrounding the image of Christ along the edge. The coin is undated but was issued during the period 1700-1709. The coin is graded as MS 61 (Mint State 61) by NGC and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. It is much better than the photos suggest. It is beautiful with nice eye appeal. It is KM 460, Numista N#106034, Fr. 1358, weighs 3.41 gm (indicated on the slab) and measures ~21 mm. Please carefully review the photos provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size and weight: This is a one Zecchino or Ducat that is ~21 mm in diameter, and should weigh weighs ~3.41 grams of 0.9990 gold.

Condition: The coin is graded MS 61 (Mint State 61) by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. Its details are very well preserved and has a nice eye appeal. It has no observable wear commensurate with its uncirculated state. The coin is just great looking and, in our opinion, should have a higher grade but you be the judge.
