Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice framed medallion or plaque of a French historic figure in very good condition and ready to hang. It would make a worthy addition to your collection.
Condition: The medallion itself is in good condition with some scratches in the field. There is also rubbing along the high points of the image such as the edge of the lapel, fore head, nose, and tip of the chin. However, these do not distract from the beauty and quality of the piece. The frame has lost some of the gilding and shows the color of the red brown wood under it giving the frame a nice shabby chic appearance and lots of character. The brown paper backing is intact but has some waviness to is and does not sit flat. Be that as it may, this is a great and unusual piece that would look great in your collection or as a decorative piece n your wall. Please see photos for additional condition information.
