One Year Type 1956 Egypt Silver Coin Large Flan 20 Piastres Sphinx of Giza XF/AU
Description: A toned about uncirculated 1956 (1375 AH) Twenty Egyptian Piaster silver coin. The coin depicts the head of the ancient Egyptian Sphinx one of the world's seven wonders, located in the Giza plateau outside of Cairo Egypt. The coin is labeled (Gomhuriet Misr) Republic of Egypt. This coin is a one year type coin and represents the only issue of the 20 piastres denomination with the sphinx. It is KM-384 and weighs 14 grams of 0.720 silver. It measures approximately 33 mm in diameter. The coin is toned with a light brown coloring especially on the obverse with some minor wear and a few surface marks as well as a few edge dings. Condition: I would grade the coin as extremely fine to about uncirculated. The coin is toned with a light brown coloring especially on the obverse with some minor wear and a few surface marks as well as a few edge dings. The coin still shows some luster especially on the reverse. A nice and very desirable coin which would make a nice addition to your collection of silver world coins.
