Rare 1798 Switzerland Taler Thaler Bern City Bear Coin NGC Graded MS 66
Description: Beautiful NGC graded silver coin dated 1798 from Switzerland. This is a one Taler or Thaler coin from the city state of Bern. The coin depicts the oval arms of the city of Bern consisting of a crowned shield with a bear walking upwards within an oval surrounded by the inscription "BERNENSIS RESPUBLICA" on the reverse. The obverse shows the a standing wearing a hat with a feather and holding a long sword with the date 1798 below him within an oval and the legend "DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT" surrounding it on t he obverse. This is a rare and very desirable coin that is difficult to find in such a high grade. It is beautiful with nice toning and great eye appeal. It is KM-164 measuring ~40 mm ( a beautiful large flan). The coin is graded MS 66 (Mint State 66) by NGC and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. Please carefully review the scan provided as it is part and parcel of our description.
