  • $ 147.77

Description: A very fine or much better 1341 AH or 1923 AD Egyptian crown size twenty piastres rare silver coin. The coin depicts the bust of King Fuad or Fouad the first (who ruled Egypt during the British occupation) facing right. He is wearing a Jacket and a neck tie as well as a fez. It has the words Fouad the first King of Egypt along the edge on the obverse in front of the king's face. The reverse has the words "Al Mamlkah Al Mesryah" (Kingdom of Egypt) in the center in beautiful calligraphy surrounded by the denomination and the date in years AD (1923) and AH (1341). This is the variety without the mint mark and is relatively rare with low mintage of only 100,000. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1923.

Mint: Egypt. Only 100,000 of this coin were minted.

Size and weight: This is a 20 piastres, which is approximately 40 mm in diameter and weighs ~28 gm of 83.3% silver. The coin has a reeded edge.

References: It is KM #338.

Condition: For international buyers, please note that the new US postal rates for overseas shipping are very high and we are unable to change them. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. Please check the cost of shipping before bidding. I would grade this coin as a nice very fine or much better. The details are all well preserved and readable. The coin is better than the scan shows. The coin has scratches, some hairlines, minor bag marks, wear to the high points especially where the fez sits on the head, which can be seen in the scan, and wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. Please see photo for additional condition information.
