Rare Roseville Pottery Early 1950s Pine Cone Modern Pattern 6" Planter
Description: A most beautiful, very uncommon, and rare brown colored art pottery vase by the Roseville Pottery Company. This a nice size (~6 3/4' long) planter in what is known as Pine Cone Modern pattern. The pattern shows a brown egg shaped planter with a small pine cone having green leaves at one end. It was made in the years 1953-1954. Please carefully view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: Sometime in the years 1953 - 1954
Origin: The piece is part of a large collection purchased from a collector in Southern New Jersey, which we will be listing over the coming weeks and months. It was of course made in Roseville, Ohio
Size and Weight: The piece measures ~6 3/4" long with the base being ~5 3/4 by ~3" and is ~3 1/2" at its highest. The piece weighs over one pound and one ounce.
Maker: Roseville Pottery Company
Marks: The piece has marking on the base in raised lettering says "Roseville; U. S. A.; 456-6".
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a truly nice and rare piece which is very difficult to come by. The colors are rich, fresh and vivid and would display very well in your collection.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition after being around for over 60 years. It has no cracks, hairlines, chips, repairs, or crazing to the glaze. The colors are fresh and vivid with no losses. Please see photos for additional condition information.
