Scarce 1928 Banknote Tunisia 100 Francs Currency Pick Number 10 VG++
Description: A nice very good or better banknote from Tunisia. This is the April 3, 1928 Algerian one hundred francs with a vertical black overprint spelling "TUNISIE" along the right edge of the front. The note shows the date 3-4-1928 in the center of the front. This note is a violet and blue and a reclining nude youth with a basket, a standing boy picking fruit on the left side of the front and a camel with a seated man in Arab garb holding a rifle to the right. The back shows a seated allegorical woman (France) having a sword next to her and pointing to a book with her hand on the shoulder of a young nude boy standing in front of her. The note is mostly in French with the denomination spelled out in Arabic on the front and Arabic text on the back. This particular note has the serial number 15614707 located in the top center of the front. It is series P.626 where this number is shown in the top right corner and bottom left corner of the front. The note also has another number in the top left corner and bottom right corner (707). It has three signatures all in French. The banknote has two watermarks one says one hundred francs in Arabic within a crescent in the small white circle in the upper right corner and the second showing a woman with a head dress facing right in a larger white circle in the upper left corner of the front. I would grade this banknote as very good with all the details being still preserved. The note has many folds both vertical and horizontal as well as general wrinkling. It is soiled but no large objectionable stains. The edges are rough, show nicks, losses, tears, and splits. However, none of the tears or splits reach the design. The note has no graffiti, but has numerous pinholes. The note has no repairs. The corners are rounded, canted, have loses with bumps and creases. The note's colors are a bit faded but still there. Be that as it may, this is a nice example of this rather scarce note to add to your collection at an affordable price. Please see the scans for additional condition information.
