Still Penny Bank Vintage Patriotic Colorful Bicentennial Spread Eagle

  • $ 49.99

Description: A beautiful vintage (circa 1976) figural painted ceramic still penny bank. The bank is in the shape of the American eagle with his wings spread ready to takeoff. He is holding golden arrows and green leaves in his talons. The eagle is standing on an American flag and you can see stars on the blue portion 0of the flag and the red and white stripes. The flag has a gold colored border. The eagle itself is brown in color with a white head and white tail. It has a yellow beak and black colored eyes. The base is flat and is shaped in the form of half an oval. The top of the base where the flag colors are is slanted upwards with the coin slot near the top of the slant next to the eagle's tail. The bottom of the base has a large hole with a rubber stopper where you can take the coins out. The piece has a sticker on the back hat says "BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION" but is missing the letter "E" after the "C" in celebration. It also has another sticker on the front that has the dates 1776-1976 with some losses. Actually the entire piece has losses to the colors throughout, which can be seen in the photos. These however, give the piece quite a bit of character and make it unique. The bottom also has a label indicating the origin of the piece. This bank was purchased as part of a large collection of cast iron penny banks, which we will be listing over the coming weeks and months. Please carefully review the pictures presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
