Two 1947 Military Issues Tresor Francais Banknotes 5 & 10 Francs Pick M6 & M7
Description: Two good very fine Military special issue banknotes. These are the no date 1947 issues of the Tresor Francais for occupied territories 5 and 10 francs small sized notes. The five francs note is brown and red on multicolor background with a woman's head in the center surrounded by fruit bunches on the front and the image of wheat harvesting on the back. The 10 francs has the same design on the front and back as the 5 francs except that it is light blue on multicolor background. The five francs has the serial number A.02751091 and the ten francs has the serial number A.00893641. Both notes would grade very fine with the 10 francs being a bit more wrinkled than the 5 francs. We are offering the two banknotes together as one lot. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: The notes are not dated but are known to have been issued in 1947. Printer: Unknown.
Size: Both banknotes are basically of the same size and measure ~3 1/4" by ~2 1/16".
Pick Number: The five francs note is M6a and the ten francs note is M7a.
Condition: I would grade both banknotes as very fine. The notes have folds, creases, and some light soiling. The notes have no tears, no splits, no graffiti, no pinholes, and no stains. Bothe notes have some wrinkling, with the ten francs having more wrinkling than the five francs note. Both notes have intact corners with some rounding and some bumps. Both have some minor roughness along the edges but still retain their nice colors and good appearance. Two special Military issued notes from post World War II times that are in good condition and would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
