Veracruz 2 Pesos Gobierno Provisional De Mexico 1915 Banknote Pick #S1103c VF
Description: A nice very fine banknote from Mexico. This is the Veracruz February 5, 1915, scarce 2 pesos banknote having a straight based 2, issued by the Provisional Government of Mexico (Gobierno Provisional De Mexico). The banknote, which has the number 2 for the denomination with a straight base thus making it Pick Number S1103c, has a black image on dark yellow background on the front. The front depicts the image of liberty sitting with an olive branch in her left hand and her right hand resting on a shield with the date 1914with the word Constitution above it and Mexico below it. The center of the front depicts the Mexican arms with an eagle standing on a cactus having a snake in its beak with mountains on the background. The front also shows the date of issue, the denomination, has two signatures, the information about the decree used to issue the note, the serial number, and the series. This note has the serial number 562423 shown twice in red and is series G. The back of the note is light blue-green with the image of a peso coin in the center. The back also indicates that the note conforms to the decree of 19 September 1914 and has a red treasury round seal with a scalloped edge. The note has no water mark. Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine. The note has all its details still preserved. The note has vertical and horizontal folds, it is lightly soiled, has some staining along the bottom edge, and light roughness along the edges. The note is intact having no losses, no tears, no splits, and no graffiti. Its corners are intact with rounding, but have an occasional minor bump. The note has no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. A nice example of this rather elusive banknote, which would make a good addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
