Vintage Antique Style No. 20 Cobalt Blue Colored Glass Base Dazey Churn

This product is currently sold out.

Description: A beautiful glass, wood and steel butter Dazey Churn. The churn has a cobalt blue colored glass bottom and steel lid and churning mechanism as it sticks to a magnet. The glass base has the words "FEB 14 22" in the center of a circle and the word "STLOUIS USA" again in raised lettering below it. There is also the words "DAZEY CHURN MFG CO" in a semi circle above the central line. There is also the number 20 at the top of that circle. The metal mechanism has the word "DAZEY" on the top of the mechanism and also on the crank arm. The churn has a wooden handle held to the crank arm with a threaded screw. The lid with the mechanism have been lacquered and antiqued to give them an older look. The paddles of the churn are made of wood and the churn mechanism works well. This is a modern version of the famous Dazey Churns made in the first quarter of the 20th century. This piece is most probably made in the late 20th century. Be that as it may, this is a very nice looking and highly decorative piece that would probably work as a churn, beater, or can be used to decorate your country home kitchen. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Uncertain but most likely late 1900s.

Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in Southern New Jersey.

Size: The glass recessed base measures ~4" by ~4" while the piece is ~5" by ~5" and is ~6 1/4" high. The neck on which the steel mechanism screws on is ~1 1/4" high. The entire piece is ~11 3/4" high and weighs about 4 1/2 pounds.

Maker: Unknown.

Marks: Marked Dazey Churn Mfg Co Feb 4 22 St. Louis USA.

Condition: This vintage Dazey butter Churn is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. The churn mechanism works fine and is all there. There are some scratches to the surface and some air bubbles within the glass. There is some losses to the lacquering on the metal portion as well as minor flaking of the lacquering when the piece is jostled. There is also minor losses of blue coloring to the glass and the metal mechanism screws on and off with difficulty. These are all minor issues and are mentioned here for completeness. Other than that the piece looks great and works well. Please view photos for additional condition information.
