Vintage Basket from Papago Indian Tribe Small Round Deep Bowl Beautiful Linear Key Design

Description: A beautiful old and genuine small Papago Indian Basket (Native American). This old basket was made by artisans from the Papago tribe in Arizona. This round deep bowl shaped basket is decorated with a design, made of darker plant material, depicting rectangles starting at the edge and extending down the side wall and is similar to the Greek key design. As such, the rim of the basket is highlighted with darker material in a nice alternating fashion. The basket has a small round flat base with flared outwards slanted sides rising to a beautifully made rim. This is an old basket that is in great shape after being around for over 80 years. A very nice decorative piece to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice old piece of Native American basketry with very nice and simple design. It would make a nice addition to your collection of Indian Baskets.

Condition: The basket is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs. It does have some soiling, which we believe can be cleaned but we leave that to the next owner. In addition, the piece has the normal issues you would expect of a handmade piece like this such as obvious grass ends, a loose edge of a grass strand, and occasional weaving error. Be that as it may, the piece is absolutely beautiful and in great shape. Just a great piece to add to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
