Vintage Bentwood or Band Box With Inlaid Decorated Lid Made in America
Description: A beautiful vintage American band box. The shallow box has a band wood side, which is attached to a wooden base with what appears to be square wooden pegs. The lift off lid is also made of a band wooden side attached to the top with the same pegs. The top of the lid is decorated with triangles and diamonds and a circle of lighter wood which has been inlaid into the base wood of the lid. The top and bottom of the box are made of darker wood than the sides. Just a beautiful piece, which we believe is a modern reproduction of such old boxes used in old pantries in the eastern part of the US. Please view photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
