Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Truly a beautiful and interesting piece of Pennsylvania Dutch folk art or primitive Americana, which would make a great addition to your collection.
Condition: The carving is in excellent condition, with no breaks, cracks, losses, or repairs. It does have some minor scratches, a few minor dings to the surface, and some minor soiling. It may have some paint losses, or the lighter areas which look like losses maybe just the way the bird was painted to make it look older, which we believe is the case. The base is an old painted finial or knob with has old flaking paint and shows losses and is still losing some of the paint through flaking off. One of the wire feathers on top of its head, namely the one ion the middle, can be turned around and oriented anyway you want. The bird itself is a bit lose on the base and can be wiggled a bit. Be that as it may, this is a beautiful piece to add to your collection. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty of the piece and for additional condition information.
