Vintage Carved and Painted Wood Small Folk Art Bird on Swing Southeastern Pennsylvania
Description: A nice primitive folk art small carved solid wood sculpture in the form of a bird on a swing or perch. The body of the bird is maroon with the wings and the tail being a dark blue with yellow highlights. The bird's eyes and beak are painted on in yellow with the eyes having a dark center. The bird has wire legs which are tied to a round branch having a curved wire attached to both ends of the branch and with a loop on top. The body shows no detail except for a general shape of the wings. The piece is unsigned and undated. A nice primitive wood carving that is well done and worthy of a spot in your collection of primitive wood carvings. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The bird measures ~5" long and the swing is ~5" high by ~4 3/8" wide. The piece weighs a bit over 1 ounce.

Condition: The carving is in excellent condition, with no breaks, cracks, losses, or repairs. It does have some minor scratches, a few minor dings to the surface, and some minor soiling.
