Vintage Cast Iron Paperweight Painted Miniature Black and White Terrier Dog
Description: An vintage cast iron small paperweight cast in the shape of a terrier dog standing on all four. The dog has both ears laying on top of his head and his tail standing up. It is painted in white with black splotches on its body, head, and the base of the tail. The dog's mouth is painted red, while his eyes and nose are black. The paperweight is very well cast and shows details of the dog's body, face, and ears. The paperweight has minor losses to the paint which can be seen in the photos. A very nice paperweight to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of the description.
Date: Uncertain, but most likely sometime in the early to mid 1900s.
Origin: Purchased in an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The piece measures ~3 7/8" at its highest, ~3 3/8" at its longest, and is ~1 1/2" at its widest. The piece weighs about 9.5 ounces.
Maker: Unknown, but could be Hubley.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Great looking vintage paperweight. Definitely a quality piece worthy of a prominent spot in your collection.
Condition: The paperweight is in very good condition and has no cracks, or repairs. The piece lost some of its original paint in the form of chips to the surface, which can be seen in the photos, but still retains what we estimate to be over 98%25 of its original paint.
