Vintage Pewter 7 1/2" Plate Curved Raised Edge By Jay Stauffer Spread Eagle Mark
Description: A vintage pewter small plate by Jay Thomas Stauffer. The pewter plate is ~7 1/2" in diameter and ~5/8" in height. The plate has a formed edge which is curved and raised at the end of a downwards sloped rim. The plate has a depressed center with rounded smooth booge. The plate is marked on the underside with a spread winged eagle within a circle having the letters JTS under its claws and surrounded by small stars. The piece has a beautiful and very nice silvery look and shows pitting on the surface suggesting it was cast. A nice small plate, which would make a nice addition to your collection. Date: Uncertain, but Jay Tom was active as a pewterer in the period 1970s through the 1990s.
Origin: Was purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Mr. Stauffer worked in Lititz, Pennsylvania in Lancaster County.
Size: The plate measure ~7 1/2" in diameter and is ~5/8" high. The plate weighs almost 12 ounces.

Marks: Marked on the underside with a spread winged eagle within a circle having the letters JTS under its claws and surrounded by small stars.
Condition: The plate is in very good condition. It has no breaks, cracks, or repairs. The plate has a beautiful and very nice grayish silvery look and shows pitting on the surface suggesting it was cast. It has scratches and dings throughout.
