Vintage Towle 770 Sterling Silver Creamer and Sugar With Applied Handles
Description: Vintage and rather unusual sterling silver creamer and sugar hollowware made by the Towle silver company of Massachusetts. These nice size pieces have round bases and sounded flared sides which rise to a shoulder. The shoulders then rise with a straight neck ending in rolled rims. Both pieces have applied handles. The creamer having only one applied handle has a spout. The handles are decorative in nature and has rounded ends with leaf like design on top. Just a great set, which is rather uncommon in the sense that if you perform a n internet search you will see an endless supply of flatware but no hollowware. Date: Uncertain but most likely early to mid 20th century.
Origin: Massachusetts, USA
Size: Creamer is 2 7/8" at its highest, 2 1/4" diameter at the base, and is 4 1/2" at its widest point including the handle and spout. The sugar bowl is 2 7/8" to the top of the handle, 2 1/4" diameter at the base, and is 5 1/2" at its widest including both handles. Both pieces weigh 5.2 troy ounces together.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: A nice set with the antique classical shape and look. Both pieces are offered for the price of one.
Condition: Both pieces are in excellent condition with no breaks, dings, or repairs. Both pieces have scratches throughout. Please note the creamer has a line of soiling on the base, which we believe would clean nicely, but even if it does not it would not distract from the beauty and quality of the piece. In Closing: A beautiful set of substantial construction. Combined they weigh 5.2 troy ounces and are really solid and feel great in your hand. This is a beautiful set with very nice classic shapes, which would display nicely in your collection.
